Re your countries shipping history, added Romania to the section Coastal Shipping Companies, guess that there used to be more shipping companies in the earlier days, prior to the state owned companies.... one of the results of the acts/crimes commited by my (or others) country......

Many thanks for yr e-mail. I was 18 years radio officer under Romanian flag ships only. my last voyage was in 2005. in 1989 Romanian fleet was composed from about 400 ships, all kind of ships types from fishing factory vessels/ reefers to 150.000 mt tankers and bulk carriers. As you may know all the ships were sold or lost and there is no history of them. I will try to write one for myself because our tradition in sailing has a history. We (romanians) didn't learned yet to evaluate our history and this is not good. Let's say that i am a nostalgic ex sailor. in 1992 (500 years celebration from discovering America) i had the honor to sail along with Santa Maria, Nina and Pinta caravels leaving from Spain to North America, and that voyage impressed me a lot.
Thank you a lot, again, for accepting my request to became a member on this site and i will do my best to improve it.
