Dierk,
The ARION pre-dated the implementation of the IMO Numbering Scheme - but it would have been 5354949 - had she not been broken up before the term was put into everyday usage. Leslie |

Hi Leslie, thank you very much for your reply,
am wondering if she got a IDNo? Noticed too, that some ships got only a four digit number, instead of the 7 digit, used for most other vessels. Thank you very much too, for pointing out my missspelling, guess have to force myself to re-read my writings, in order not to make these dumb mistakes Tschüss and all the best Dierk

Dierk,
The existing seven digit LR Ship Number system was adopted by IMO on 19/11/87 as the universal standard for unique ship identification as IMO Resolution A.600(15) and is now managed by IHS Markit. https://imonumbers.lrfairplay.com/Pd..._Standards.pdf In 1973, LR computerised their ship numbering system (which includes a check digit) and previous numbering systems were invalidated. This renumbering action applied to existing vessels only and not retrospectively to "dead" ships such as "TITANIC" etc. PM me for any help with missing IMO numbers. Leslie |
