Hi all, found too some of the postings in the "Oops/Mishaps" section

The program was a foto type thingy on the Fulmar's computer, took me well over half a nav watch to sort it, so asking me about that sort of thing is like asking Gordon Brown to talk about honesty!! Dont know owt about it!

That brings to mind the master of the Valzell (a close relation of the owners) who had a close encounter with the South Goodwin - He went about to see if he had done any damage to it - hit it a proper clout the second time round and took half of his stbd bulwark away - bet that was a pleasent phone call to the kremlin.

pat i remember that, did he become the ISM dp because i think he once came aboard the Avoca to do an audit, think it was the same person :roll:

Yes thats the one Ray, he came on the Avoca out in the Bull Anchorage with the pilot boat just to do an audit..
and gave me a bit of a hard time about hours of work.
I only went to Sea
To go Ashore

Yes, thats the one - a relatively clever gentleman but not one for the real world. Being in the office was the least expensive option for the company. He was still there for the start of ism etc.

I remember doing a lsa survey at greenwich. Surveyor arrived at 0600 on monday morning because he knew suptd was coming over and wanted to be finished before he arrived - the surveyor wqas a skipper in the company he did his cadetship - told us some stories!!
