Hi Gareth, yes H.R. Mitchell & Sons were based in the Woolwich Arsenal and had a busy company having HETTY, SUSAN, JOHN, VIOLET, MAY, PATRICIA and KATHERINE MITCHELL in their fleet. Whether their demise was linked to munition changes at Woolwich Arsenal, I think some ex crew members will be able to advise. As well as loading at Chapman Anchorage in the Thames, they also went to Great Oakley and Stangate Creek for their purpose.
