...berthed outside of the Wharf Hotel in Port Adelaide with the JUNO Australian - Coast Steamships of SA/GULF Steamship Co Ltd. Built 1909 - 1953 413 gross tons, 175 net. Lb: 155'8" x 27'2". on: 122726. Steel, single screw steamship built by J Reid & Co, Whiteinch Glasgow for the Gulf Steamship Co Ltd, Port Adelaide. Compound engine = 649 nhp, 750 ihp as manufactured by Muir & Houston, Glasgow, Rated 12 knots Service speed 10 knots. Carried day passengers (100) only. Serviced the gulf trades before and after 1913 when owned by Copast Steamships Ltd. At some stage was converted/re-measured at 423 gross, 165 net tons. December 1939 requisitioned by the Royal Australian Navy and after re-fitting, commissioned as a Minesweeper. Performed that role mostly in South Australian waters and returned to owners 1946. Sold to Howard G Smith Ltd 24 March 1953 and scrapped at Port Adelaide 1953. June 1906 owned by Gulf Steamship Company, in replacing the 'Ceres'. Finally with the new Coast Steamships Ltd as at 1913.
