Hi Rick and all - Must be John Summers steels mill at Shotton on the the River Dee,taken over by British Steel 60-70's ? Looks like she may have loaded on the Manchester Ship Canal before they rebuilt the jetty at the mill, used to fix with British Steel back in the 80's off the jetty, Angela Jurgens-Larrisasse etc etc Cheers Gareth

Hi Gareth,
I do not think the photo is taken at Shotten but the big crane at Liverpool Docks,-but I could also be wrong.

Cheers,Rick

Hi Rick - you're right its def not Shotton , Liverpool probably as you say due to the size of the crane (lifting steel coils). John Summers owned her, wonder if they had any other ships ? Gareth

Hi Gareth,

Yes,they did have some other vessels over the years,STALEY BRIDGE blt 1940,
ELORITA & INDORITA both blt 1920's and before that coasting schooners, there was also a book written in the 1960's-not sure of exact date- featuring a captians life in Summers early vessels in the 20th century.
