TOWNSVILLE TRADER

Australian - ANL shipping Co.

Built 1970 - 1884

IMO 7004794

6,326 gross tons, 2,961 net. 4,422 dwt.

Lbd: 448'5" x 70'7" x 20'3".

Vehicle Deck Vessel built and completed May 1970 by Evan Deakin & Co., Pty Ltd., Brisbane for this concern. Twin screw, diesel engine making 17.5 knots.

A radical ship design where Officers and crew were well accomodated, and multi-purpose features for vehicle and container carrying design were all incorporated.

A shallow draught allowed for smaller ports to be on the itinerary. Sistership to Brisbane Trader and Sydney Trader. Broken up at Kaohsiung from 18 November 1984
