This vessel arrived at the Appledore Shipyard berth yesterday morning to await a suitable tide to move up to Bideford where she has been given permission to remain for at least 5 years by the local council . She was built in 1946 at the Lytham Shipbuilding Co for the Royal Navy as a water tanker and is owned by the ss Freshspring preservation Society who hope to get her back into steam and make trips into the Bristol Channel she has been laid up at Newnham on the River Seven for about 20 year prior to drydocking at Sharpness and then to the River Taw. Further photograghs when ship get to Bideford.
