Default HMS Gladiator id

Sunk 25/4/1908, collision with ss PAUL off Isle of Wight.HMS Gladiator then settled into shallow water and was salvaged five months later.

PHOTOGRAPHIC POSTCARD OF THE WRECKED ROYAL NAVY CRUISER HMS GLADIATOR ENTERING PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR AFTER HAVING BEEN SALVAGED, 1908.The hulk was deemed un-repairable and she was struck off the lists of duty and sold for her scrap value.

HMS GLADIATOR,1896, - Royal Navy,GBR. 5,750 grt x Portsmouth Dockyard,Portsmouth.

Subsequent History:

Disposal Data:Sank in collision with a liner on 25th April 1908.Raised 10/1908,Sold for BU 5/8/1909.
