Default EVERT PRAHM versus hanging ferry

Yesterday the EVERT PRAHM hit the hanging ferry while transiting the Kiel-Canal westbound

I was very sad to see a Hammann & Prahm ship involved in this, especially after seeing the damage to her bridge building.

I saw the video of the incident. Surely the Evert Prahm was not in the wrong here? Seems to me like the hanging ferry thing ignored the lights so to speak and went over a railway crossing and was hit by a train.

Hi Jordan, the ferry is only allowed crossing the canal, when no ships are passing by. They wrote that the 12 cables moving the ferry caused problems recently. Guess that the ferry started to cross over to the other side, when the EVERT PRAHM was a safe distance away, but got stuck, due to a malfunction of the moving cables
