V., Cuxhaven, Deu. 18-02-1988 laid up at Ostend. 1988 IMKE C Borlim nv, Zeebrugge, Bel. ………………Hundreds of well-built German coasters have been broken up in the past for economical reasons. In 1992 the Belgian association Artist Service bought this ship from it’s last owner who sold it for the same reason. Artist Service (the name of the association changed into “SeaSens” in 2005) gave the vessel a new purpose as they changed the former hold into a polyvalent space for cultural activities. From 1996 the ship was used and rented regularly for concerts, exhibitions, workshops and parties. At the moment she has been given her own berth in the lighthouse-dock of Ostend, Belgium and since 2002 the ship is used to develop SeaSens, a new, unique and very special kind of relaxation sessions. The realization of this project was supported by the European Commission, the Flemish Tourist Board and the city of Ostend. http://seasens.be/schip_en.html |
