Any assistance on identifying this ship would be welcomed - she appears to have part of a name on her bows ending in HORS or similar.
Many thanks Leslie |

Hi Leslie and Rick, am sure that it is one of the Sietas Typ 1 ships, nine have been built, but differt hulls, some with "goal-posts" , some without....
checked all which I found here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sietas_Typ_1 and believe that this is the "special one" ![]() http://coasters-remembered.net/showt...Johanne+sietas but have to admit that without Rick, wouldn`t have found her ![]()

I am indebted to everyone's efforts - she is so like the ST.ANDREWS!
Suggest the interpretation of the spidery writing on a grainy negative be ignored and we settle on this identification pending any other thought patterns. Again, many thanks for your enthusiasm and expertise on my behalf. Leslie |

Hi Leslie, if we would know the date, could say wether she was still ST ANREWS or already ANDREWS......last letter to be seen at her bow could be also a "W" but owners had no money for painting I presume

I am trying to increase size of name from the photograph, Dierk. Not conclusive though!

Hi Leslie, whoever painted the name did a lousy job, didn`t get paid maybe and was frustrated a bit

Hi Leslie/Dierk,
I reckon, going by the evidence, she is the ANDREWS - ex ST.ANDREWS. Cheers Rick Last edited by Rick R.I.P.; 03-04-15 at 10:44 AM. |

Yes Rick., It is what you say. The middle wheelhouse windows were changed, sometime after i was in her. Cargo gear and mast housing was taken out in Bremen when Usborne Bought the vessel. Was managed then by Jeppesen Heaton. Mr van der Laan., as Superintendent and chartered to Louis Dreyfus. The rest is all history and vessel was sold onwards. |
