I have never seen so much and so well maintained and shiny brass and copper being mounted on board in one single wheelhouse.... It's just insanely nice to look at .... Simultaneously with this fact, I rejoice that I have never had the task of maintaining this ultimate high standard both to always keep the wheelhouse ultrapure, clean and well polished and at the same time having to keep the equipment totally spotless at all times .... it must have been a huge task ... But it looks so very nice... No doubt about that

A picture of life of a seaman the typical maintenance work on board the ships in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and partly in the 80's .... with maintenance of ships and their equipment ...... among other things, scrape loose paint and knock rust and treat with red lead, as in two different colors alleviate the burden of providing 2nd layer of red lead, while ensuring it the easy way, to all the scraped places will be properly treated before the full covering layers of lacquer paints is applied to the vessel surfaces again. A well-executed rust treatment work and paint-work ensures the ship a long life and good looks
