Default Thanks a lot my friend

Hi Leslie
Thank you so very much for posting the lovely photo of the former ELISE BRES visitting Teignmouth as LEE - it was in the period 13-10-1972 to 04-01-1974 she had that name. But she was still fully owned by the company Nielsen & Bresling - They were playing a kind of "hide & seek"-game
with the international unions that tried to block the Danish coasters owned by the Danish shipping companies that would not sign agreements with the Danish maritime unions.
Therefore, Bres-Line tried to conceal the true identity of ships by changing the names and colors of the ships.
But it did not help - the ships were recognized when the ships were known in the ports they called - and if the dock workers did not recognize the ships, they recognized the various crew members on board the ships so the measures were in vain.
This meant that the shipping company signed the agreements with the Danish trade unions, and thus both parties began a long-term good and sustainable cooperation that lasted until this year when the only remaining shipowner Poul Bresling age 93+ in January / February has sold the company's last ships for some German interests. Axel Nielsen died a few years ago at the age of 101+ and now "the young man" has decided to sell the ships and retire as 93 years old.

That was a long - boring - explanation of the reason for the name/color-changes of/on the BRES-ships during 1972-1973...

Once again I thank you so very much for posting pictures of the ships owned by my old company Leslie... You give me a lot of good memories back with your postings Leslie...
Thanks my friend...
Kindest Regards
Kent

Thank you Kent for the lengthy explanation on the disguising of the ship identity - it certainly was not boring for without it, our readers would never know of the intrigue behind the scenes of the shipowner!

Putting another Bres ship up tonight for you.

ATB my friend

Leslie
